See Tickets Launches Gig Buddy Ticketing App

Celeb partners Gig BuddySee Tickets has worked with PayPal to create a transactional ticketing app that brings together ticket purchasing, travel, food and merchandise under one roof.

Users can find their friends and follow their favourite artists, with the likes of Gary Barlow already on board, who See Tickets has secured partnerships with in order to offer exclusive content to fans. The company has worked hard to build social in, so users dont have to leave the app to chat or share gig-related information with each other.

The express checkout fuction enables people to pay for tickets with PayPal, from either their PayPal balance, bank balance, debit card or credit card, so they dont need to input their card details. Users can also get exclusive restaurant deals that they can pay for, or split with friends all in-app. Gig Buddy is in advanced talks with The Trainline and Travelodge, who will be featured partners in the app.

Clearly not shy about its desire to collect data, the app forces users to sign in with Twitter or Facebook, seeking some pretty dodgy permissions, including posting to Twitter on your behalf. See Tickets is embarking on a huge marketing campaign in order to get people using Gig Buddy, including sponsoring the Best Live Act category of the NME awards.

The company says that mobile sales often outstrip those made on desktop, so it is a huge priority for the company. The app, built by Re:Systems, houses some 40,000 different live events from multiple different sellers.
