Energy company Shell has launched the Shell Lubricants app for iOS and Android. The free app, which will initially launch in the UK, Russia, and Germany before rolling out to other regions, integrates the Shell LubeMatch lubricant selector tool, currently available on the Shell website, and enables users to find the right Shell lubricants for vehicles and industrial equipment.
Users can save their choices to ‘Favourites’ and also access the latest news and promotions. The app provides lubricant recommendations for cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks, off-highway vehicles and industrial machinery, and allows users to share these easily via email.
“Mobile has become a hugely important platform globally and is a great way to add value to existing and potential customers,” said Oliver van Bilsen, global head of digital for Shell Lubricants. “Shell aims to offer something more useful to customers than just another driving game; we wanted to differentiate Shell Lubricants and offer functionality that delivers real long-term value, and something that people will come back to time and time again.”
