Snapchat has begun sharing a range of insights with creators, in order to give them a better understanding of their audience and open up future monetisation opportunities.
From today, the analytics feature will be available to Official Story account holders and other creators who have amassed a large following. These users will be able to access the insights through their profile screen in the Snapchat app.
Data available to the creators includes total story views, showing the number of views they have received on their Stories within different time frames; time spent viewing Stories, which shows the total number of minutes spent viewing their Stories; daily reach and engagement, highlighting unique story viewers, average time of each viewer, and completion rates; information about audience demographics, breaking down gender and age of viewers; and additional information about their audience’s interests, such as their favourite lifestyle categories and where the audience is located.
The introduction of insights for creators comes just a day after Snapchat opened up its Marketing API to all developers, agencies, brands, and tech partners.
