Spar Plans Repeat of Successful Mobile Marketing Campaign

SPAR POS 2015UK store group Spar is planning on repeating its successful Shop & Win mobile marketing drive after seeing a 65 per cent increase in basket spend among winners when the campaign was first run in August of this year.

The Shop & Win promotion will offer customers daily prizes supported by instant money-off and free product mobile vouchers for brands including Coca-Cola, Mars, Heineken and Muller.

The promotion is managed by shopper activation agency Blue Chip, and will run from 5 January to the middle of February, with a £500 cash prize up for grabs every day. The vouchers can be won using a touchscreen scratch-card game, and will use unique codes which can be redeemed at 2,000 Spar stores nationwide.

“We were really pleased with the performance of our Shop & Win campaign earlier this year,” said Andy Burt, senior marketing manager at Spar. “We were able to connect with a younger audience and reward our loyal customers, whilst ensuring that the campaign was commercial successful.

“Our retailers got fully behind the promotion and supported it heavily in stores, which complemented the other marketing communications we implemented at the time. It is important that we build upon this achievement which is why we are deploying brand new features for the next phase in January.”
