Mobile campaign promoter Spotzot has launched SpotAds, a platform that presents retail promotions and product information as interactive mobile and web ads.
Features of the platform include geo-fenced coupons for shoppers located near a participating store, online price comparison, and a display of nearby stores with click-to-call phone numbers and driving directions.
The platform offers either exclusive SpotAds, which enable advertisers to promote their offers without competition, or non-exclusive ads, which places the offer among other results that match a consumer’s interest.
The company tested its platform earlier this year with retailers including Macy’s, Wal-Mart and Best Buy, and results indicated a 40-70 per cent increase in mobile consumer traffic over traditional ads.
