Simpsons Snapchat Filters
The Simpsons recently passed the 600 episode mark, securing its place as the longest running sitcom in American television history (as well as the longest running primetime animated show). Now, US network FXX is showing a 27-season, 600-episode marathon of the show, and promoting its 13 day event with Simpsons-themed Snapchat filters.

Three Thanksgiving-themed Simpsons Snapchat filters will be accessible to US users from 23 November, the day before the marathon begins, and then during the 300-hour broadcast, Snapcodes will appear during commercial breaks and across FXXs social channels, unlocking four more filters that Snapchat users can enjoy.

The Simpsons 600 Marathon will become the longest-running marathon in television history, surpassing FXXs existing record from August 2014 when it aired 552 consecutive episodes of The Simpsons.

The marathon ensured that the newly-launched network was the top rated cable network for adults aged 18 to 49 during those 12 days.

In addition to the Snapchat filters, FXX also runs Simpsons World, a digital experience featuring branded content that is accessible online and via FXNOW, Foxs on-demand streaming service. During marathon, Simpsons World will feature unique content aimed at enhancing the viewing experience.

The marathon isnt the first time a Fox network has made use of Snapchat to promote an event. Last month, Fox broadcast Snapcodes to provide viewers with three unique filters during its live version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, in an effort to replicate the audience participation that the film is so well known for.
