Twitter Launches Conversational Ads

Twitter conversation adsTwitter has launched a conversational ad format, which encourage users to engage with and spread a brand’s campaign message through a direct call-to-action.

So far, the most common call-to-action seems to be asking users a simple two-choice question, as seen in the screenshots above. When the user taps one of the buttons, theyll be shown a tweet pre-populated with the brand message, including a hashtag and potentially an image or video.

This tweet can be personalised or shared as is to the users followers, and theyll then receive an automated message from the brand thanking the users for engaging with the tweet. Twitter is pitching the format as an easy way of generating earned media for brands.

The conversational ad has been undergoing small-scale trials with select partners for the past few months, and is now rolling out in beta across all markets.
