Video Ad Views Increased Tenfold Last Year, says Millennial

Mobile video ad views increased 958 per cent between Q2, 2011, and Q1, 2012, according to the Mobile Mix report from Millennial Media.

The report also saw three Tablets break the Top 20 Mobile Devices for the first time. In the last report, only the iPad made the Top 20, but it was joined this quarter by the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Kindle Fire. The non-phone connected devices category – made up of Tablets, MP3 players, and eReaders – made of 20 per cent of all impressions on the platform, a growth of 33 per cent.

While Apple held the top spot as manufacturer – with the iPhone continuing its reign as the leading handset – the most popular OS was Android, with 49 per cent of total impressions. The OS accounted for 15 of the top 20 phones, four of which were Samsung devices.
