Volkswagen Gaming App Hits 1m Downloads in 10 Weeks

iOS and Android racing game Sports Car Challenge 2 has been downloaded 1m times in 10 weeks.

Thats hardly unusual – but whats different about Sports Car Challenge is that its also a marketing tool for the Volkswagen Group, part of an initiative to raise awareness of its sports brands in Asian markets.

The cars in the game are all models from the Groups various brands, including the Audi TTS Coupé, Bentley Continental GT and Porsche Boxster S. When selected, along with the usual customisable colour schemes and specs, the app links to brand and dealership sites.

In the 10 weeks since release, the app has driven over 1m visits to brand sites, and 25,000 visits to dealers sites.
