We Love Mobile Revamps BBC Mobile Search

London-based creative mobile agency, We Love Mobile, has completed the design of a new search product for the BBC. Following a competitive pitch, We Love Mobile was selected to create what it describes as a ground breaking search concept and interface for the broadcasters mobile content, which will now be incorporated into the BBCs search roadmap for its mobile Internet sites. The BBC mobile search product launched in an early Beta version on 3 September.
During the project, We Love Mobile worked with the broadcasters mobile team to create a best of breed search interface design, including concept work, visual and interaction design. The team also built a concept prototype for the iPhone and S60 handsets, and carried out an evaluation of existing content search solutions and comparative benchmarking and testing of the new product.
The We Love Mobile search model allows for advanced content search and discovery, with the emphasis on providing highly relevant and personalised content surfacing around the corporations extensive mobile assets. The search solution contains some entirely new content filtering and presentation concepts as well as a slick, engaging user interface.
What weve done for the BBC is to think mobile from the ground up, says We Love Mobile Managing Director, Simon Liss. Weve applied what we know about mobile devices, mobile usage, user experience and design to create what we believe is a truly original and innovative search concept and interface.
