we7 Launches Android Beta

UK streaming service we7 has launched its beta app for Android. The full app, due “shortly”, will allow we7 Premium+ Android users to access we7 music from any location, even offline. Playlists can be created, allowing users to listen to their favourite tracks whilst on the move. Users can also search for songs, artists and albums, and there is no limit to the amount of music that can be streamed or downloaded to the user’s smartphone.

we7 is a UK-based music on-demand streaming service and integrated download store. The service has 5m licensed tracks for users to stream and download from all four major labels and hundreds of independents. we7 was set up in 2007 by Peter Gabriel, Steve Purdham, Gareth Reakes and John Taysom.

The company offers a free, ad-funded service, or users can pay £4.99 per month for the Premium service, which streams music to a PC with no ads; or £9.99 a month for the Premium+ service, which streams music to a PC or mobile with no ads.
