YahooYahoo are considering acquiring a number of tech-related companies including MediaMath, RadiumOne and Turn.

The rumours come as Yahoo attempts to deal with the taxes related to its lucrative assets in the Alibaba Group and Yahoo Japan, seeking acquisitions that would nullify the gains it has made while still expanding the company.

Among the ideas floated is that the company should buy BlackBerry, which is currently valued at around $5.4bn (£3.4bn), well within the amount the firm has to spend, but according to Recode, Yahoo currently has plans to rejuvenate its display advertising business with a number of smaller acquisitions.

New York-based MediaMath makes tools for digital marketing and ad-buying, while RadiumOne is a real-time bidding online ad platform and Turn is a data and media marketing platform. All three companies enable users to purchase programmatic ad inventory, which Yahoo has traditionally struggled with.
