Yahoo Launches Mobile-optimised Film Magazine

image004Yahoo has launched a new Yahoo Movies digital magazine for film lovers to access via desktop, mobile and tablet. The website is responsively designed to adapt to different devices, and hopes to provide cinema fans with “the ultimate movie experience”.

The site will host a mixture of editorial content with native and content marketing, enabling brands to share high-impact video content with consumers in an immersive visual environment. Paramount Pictures is the first brand to utilise the new platform, using it to showcase its new trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction.

“Watching films isnt just about going to the cinema or renting DVDs anymore,” said Michael Pennington, head of Yahoo Entertainment vertical. “Every day, users are devouring movie content on their phones, tablets and laptops. And thats where Yahoo Movies lives as well, with a full screen experience for first-look movie trailers, behind-the-scenes scoops, and red-carpet access to make fans movies obsession even more entertaining and inspire them to click further.”

“Because we believe that advertising should be as engaging as the site itself, Yahoo Movies also incorporate seamless, native advertising and content marketing opportunities for movie studios and brands.”
