10,000 Downloads for Ridin on 3

Mobile network 3 has announced that since its release on 26 June, the video for US hip-hop star Chamillionaires debut single Ridin has sold over 10,000 downloads in the UK on its network. The figure includes 5,800 downloads in one day, when the video was featured on Today on 3, the networks live video mobile news and entertainment channel.
Ridin is physically released in the UK on 14 August on the Universal label, through the Island Records Group. In the US, the song is currently the most-played video on MTV2, the best-selling UMRG (Universal Motown Records Group) ringtone, and the number 1 hip-hop video on AOL. The song is taken from Chamillionaires major label debut The Sound Of Revenge which will be released in the UK in August.
At Universal Island we are keen to embrace innovative ways to deliver our artists music to the consumer says Island Records Group Head of Mobile, Neil Jennings. Were delighted that the Chamillionaire mobile download is proving to be such a success and we are excited about the growth of this market.
For 3, Marketing Director Graeme Oxby, adds:
Chamillionaires success on 3 demonstrates the power of music over mobile. More and more people are downloading music on 3, record labels are releasing singles first on 3 and were pleased to see the labels are as excited about the growing sales as we are.
