1.4 Million Downloads for Greystripe

Mobile games company Greystripe has revealed that its GameJump.com free mobile games portal has achieved over 1.4 million downloads in just under four months since launch. GameJumps popularity is particularly noteworthy, the company says, as all downloads have  occurred off-deck, supporting Greystripes belief that consumers dont want to pay for their mobile content.
Greystripes ability to generate this level of traction within a short period of time demonstrates the viability of the ad supported mobile content economic model, says Michael Cai, Director of Broadband & Gaming for Parks Associates, a leading market research firm for the digital living industry.
Launched on 15 August, GameJump.com provides free games from more than 40 leading mobile game developers, while supporting 1,000 Java handsets. GameJump.com boasts over 350 Java game titles, including Dynamo Kid, BlackJack, Opals Quest and Bowling. The company says that its network of publishers, devices, and free games will increase dramatically in 2007, with support for Flash Lite and other platforms. Greystripes overall mobile advertising network already serves ads and videos that are full screen and interactive.
In early 2007, well release the next generation of our AdWRAP technology, including support for Flash Lite and BlackBerry games says Gamestripe Co-founder and CTO, Andy Choi. Well also roll out support for embedding full video players into mobile games, which will allow us to serve video and audio commercials across a much broader range of handsets.
Choi says he is also excited about Greystripes support for in-game ad formats, which he says will complement the companys existing pre- and post-roll formats.
Were just at the beginning of leveraging the power of the AdWRAP technology says Choi.
