1.6k M&B Pubs Get Wi-fi from O2

O2 has signed a three-year agreement with Mitchells & Butlers – the pub mega-chain which includes Harvester, Toby Carvery and All Bar One – to provide free wi-fi to 1,600 pubs and restaurants.

The deal will see O2 Wi-fi hostpots installed in each pub – beginning with nearly 200 Harvesters over the summer – to give internet access to O2 and non-O2 mobile customers, as well as additional services, including entertainment and mobile payments.

“Wi-fi should be about accessing the internet quickly, seamlessly and, most importantly, wherever you want to use it,” says Gavin Franks, MD of O2 Wifi. “That is why this partnership is such an exciting one. Pub and restaurant-goers will soon be able to receive promotional offers, check the football scores, reply to their emails and update social media sites over a Sunday roast and a pint.”
