18 Per Cent of Android Users Have Upgraded to Lollipop

Google Android18.1 per cent of all Android device users have Lollipop, the most recent version of the OS, loaded on their devices – but only 2.6 per cent have the very latest update, 5.1.

Thats according to Googles own breakdowns, which show that KitKat (version 4.4, the previous release) accounts for the biggest chunk of Android users, 39.3 per cent.

Jelly Bean is a close second at 33.6 per cent – though this is spread over three separate version numbers, 4.1-4.3 – leaving any older versions of OS firmly in the minority.

The data also breaks out screen sizes and pixel densities, and you can see those breakdowns in the charts below. (Size left; pixel count right. For more on Googles definitions of each size, read its developer guidelines here.)
