Video ad firm Vyking has secured €1m (£750,000) from private investors to expand its operations across Europe.

Vyking offers two cloud-based products, Vyking 101 and Vyking Direct, promising to give publishers full control over ad sales, and guaranteeing both best volumes and rates.

The startup, which has offices in Berlin and London, was founded by Matthew Klimpke and Thibault Marion de Procé, who have worked in digital advertising at Nokia, Zalando and LiquidM. The funding comes as it works on fine-tuning its technology and collecting insights from its first campaigns.

“We will continue to invest heavily in research and development,” said Klimpke. “With the first publishers now on board we will also be recruiting more digital advertising experts. We’re intent on providing a complete solution to our publishers, offering them more ways to grow their businesses. We’re also exploring future formats and delivery channels in spaces currently under the radar.”
