YouGov has revealed that tablet ownership in the UK has now reached 22 per cent, with more female owners and young buyers behind the four per cent quarter-on-quarter rise.
52 per cent of tablet owners were women in Q2 2013, an increase of nine per cent on the same time a year earlier. Women own 60 per cent of iPad 1s and 2s and 58 per cent of iPad Minis.
Ownership among 18 to 34-year-olds has also increased by seven per cent during the last year, growing from a 19 to a 26 per cent share of the market. Meanwhile, older people’s share has fallen, with the proportion of tablet owners that are over-55 dropping from 42 per cent to 31 per cent.
