3 Adds to Skypephone Rollout

Mobile operator 3 has announced the launch this week of its 3 Skypephone handset in Sweden, Denmark and Austria. This follows the successful introduction of the handset in the UK, Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong and Italy and means that free mobile-to-mobile international Skype calls are available to 3 customers across eight countries.
The handset has already developed a strong following in its launch markets, says 3, and with the continued roll out, more customers can enjoy the freedom and flexibility a 3 Skypephone offers enabling free calls to and from computer users of Skype and free mobile-to-mobile Skype calls.
The 3 Skypephone is a fully-featured 3G Internet phone with free Internet calling built-in. In addition to Skype calls, the phone makes conventional calls and can be used to access 3s broad range of Internet services.
3 says that its Skype customers to date have not only been actively making calls to their UK contacts, but also Europe wide and across the Atlantic, with the US the second most popular destination for free Skype calls. The top European destinations for UK Skype callers are Poland, Germany and France.
The 3 Skypephone has brought the worlds of home and mobile broadband together, says 3 UK CEO, Kevin Russell. Our customers are now able to enjoy the same Skype experience at home as on the move. The rollout across our international business underlines our commitment to offer innovative services that challenge the status quo.
