3 UK subscribers will be able to access entire episodes of hit television shows on demand, with the launch of the network's first ever Mobile TV subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service. The launch is the result of a deal between 3UK, On Demand Group and The Walt Disney Company UK. Under the terms of the deal, Disney will offer hundreds of episodes to subscribers on the 3 network in the UK, including ABC Studios award winning live action series Lost, Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy and more.
The SVOD service, called TV on Demand is fully managed and powered by On Demand Group, the three-screen enabler for premier content and operations brands. Leveraging On Demand Groups technology and numerous partner studios and programmer relationships, TV on Demand offers a variety of top-rated television shows, enabling subscribers to extend their enjoyment of complete programs while theyre on the go. 3 subscribers on any 3 handset make or model can immediately enjoy the new personalised functionality, including playback, pause and resume of all programs at anytime.
On Demand Group develops and manages the on-demand businesses of a growing number of service providers, including Virgin Media in the UK, OTE in Greece and TTNET in Turkey.
