iPoint-media, which provides live, interactive video applications and delivery platforms for web, 3G mobile and media, has announced the release of Vitrage GOvideoDating, an interactive video dating delivery platform designed for use with 3G phones. iPoint says that GOvideoDating enables existing dating services, mobile operators and service providers to quickly and easily deploy video dating services on any 3G network and benefit from new revenue opportunities derived from 3G video calls.
GOvideoDating enables anyone with a 3G video-enabled mobile phone to search for and interact with other video daters. Features include the ability to create personal profiles and recorded video greetings; basic and advanced search options; sending, receiving and viewing recorded video messages; and the ability to engage in live video-chats with other logged in members, without the need for the user to reveal their mobile number.
GOvideoDating is targeted at the rapidlygrowing mobile dating industry. A recent Juniper Research report estimates that revenues from this industry will push past the $1 billion (500 million) mark by 2010.
GOvideoDating is offered as a hosted/managed service, enabling carriers, aggregators and service providers to rapidly deploy customized dating services on 3G mobile networks without a capital investment. The platform supports multiple billing methods and offers the flexibility to integrate with existing web or voice dating sites as well as location based services.
Dating sites are designed to help people find potential partners, says iPoint-media Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Joseph Daniel. The ability to see, hear and interact live with others, along with the flexibility of doing this at any time using a 3G mobile phone, will improve the experience of finding the right partner. GOvideoDating empowers dating providers to elevate virtual dating to this new level, while offering new sources of revenue resulting from the generated 3G video calling traffic. We believe that premium voice and web dating providers can easily deploy GOvideoDating to generate new revenues.
iPoint-media is currently deploying the first GOvideoDating solution with what it describes as: a leading UK voice-based social network service provider. It says it hopes to announce additional European 3G video dating services later this year.
