Ocado saw 40 per cent of its check-outs come from mobile during the first half of 2013.
Of that, three quarters came from apps – 30 per cent of the total.
The online supermarket delivery company announced these figures as part of its results for the first half of 2013 – ending 19 May. It reported revenues of £355.9m, an increase of 15.6 per cent year-on-year, but losses of £3.8m, compared to a profit of £0.2m a year earlier.
