4G or Not 4G, That is the Question

Apple has dropped the use of the term ‘4G’ in its ads for the iPad, after pressure from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), according to the BBC. Although the iPad will work on 4G networks in the US, it won’t work on 4G networks in European countries, which will operate on different frequencies.

After receiving complaints from consumers, the ASA sought, and received, assurances from Apple that its advertising would change. The ASA acted again after more complaints from consumers that Apple was still using 4G capabilities to promote the device.
