When it comes to watching catch-up TV, mobile devices are still the second screen, according to research from Twonky which shows that 51 per cent of the UK still prefer to watch catch-up services on a big screen, rather than their smartphone or tablet.
Convenience, which is the biggest advantage of viewing on a mobile device, was only considered more important than screen size by 19 per cent of respondents.
Nevertheless, 37 per cent of people used mobile devices to catch up on shows they missed during the Christmas period.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, bed is the most common place for watching TV on a mobile device. 29 per cent of respondents watch catch-up TV from the bedroom, a number that rises to 50 per cent among 18-24 year olds.
