All of the top 20 revenue-producing retailers in the US – and 70 of the top 100 – currently offer branded apps for their customers, according to research by location-based marketing firm Digby, based on STORES magazines Top 100 retailer list.
100 per cent of both department stores and online retailers in the lists now have an app, up from 60 per cent and 56 per cent respectively this time last year.
The lowest scoring sector, perhaps unsurprisingly, is value brands, only 10 per cent of which have an app.
By comparison, 78 per cent of fast food brands, 77 per cent of big box retailers, and 58 per cent of grocery stores offer apps.
