77 per cent of 18-34 year old smartphone users decide what film to watch using their handset, according to research commissioned by mobile ad agency Odyssey Mobile Interaction. Of these, 33 per cent use their device for this purpose weekly, and 64 per cent monthly.
The research, conducted by Dres Consulting, asked 600 18-34 year olds in the UK, Germany and France, revealing that 70 per cent are interested in watching trailers on their mobiles, and that 58 per cent are likely to click on a banner to watch a trailer on their handset.
When researching, those who use their mobile to help choose a film, 25 per cent have downloaded a specific app, while 55 per cent use websites, and 35 per cent mobile search.
Its still not enough, though – according to the study, 81 per cent want more film information available on their smartphones.
