99 Per Cent of Mobile Malware Targeting Android, says Kaspersky

99 per cent of mobile malware discovered in 2012 targeted Android users, according to Kasperkys Security Bulletin report.

Android malware grew at an explosive rate for the second year running, growing more than eightfold. To put that into perspective, just eight new unique malicious programs were discovered during January 2011. The monthly average over the course of 2012 hit 6,300.

The three most common malware groups – SMS Trojans, Backdoors and Spyware – made up 51 per cent of all Android malware discovered in the first half of 2012.
