A Quarter of Brits Planning to Buy on Black Friday or Cyber Monday

Amazon Lightning Deals Black Friday27 per cent of UK adults intend to make a purchase in the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales this month, and are expecting to spend an average of £203, nearly double the 2015 figure.

Thats according to a PwC study, which also found that 77 per cent of shoppers are planning on making their purchases in the sales online, compared to just 17 per cent in store.

“Our research shows Black Friday and Cyber Monday are definitely here to stay, with sales over the weekend due to grow by a predicted 38 per cent to £2.9bn,” said PwC retail & consumer lead Madeleine Thomson. “57 per cent of consumers who are planning to shop holding off on planned purchases in anticipation of getting a better deal during the sales period.”

Not all Brits are one board, however. 36 per cent said they have no interest in either Black Friday or Cyber Monday, and 14 per cent intend to purposely avoid them.
