A Third of BlackBerry Apps Come from One Developer

A Hong-Kong-based app developer S4BB appears to be responsible for creating more than 47,000 of BlackBerry World’s 120,000 apps.

Although the manufacturer unveiled a range of initiatives in the last year to encourage more developers to build apps for its platform, the Berry Review site says that free submissions have encouraged developers to focus on quantity over quality.

BlackBerrys board of directors is currently in talks focused on the future of the company – and hasnt ruled out the possibility of selling up. BlackBerry reported losses of $84m (£54m) in Q2 and expects to lose more money in the next quarter.
