ABC TV Signs Up with FreeWheel

Video technology company FreeWheel has signed an agreement with ABC Television Group to manage the Disney-owned companys advertising, across its video, mobile and display channels. FreeWheels Monetization Rights Management (MRM) product will enable ABC to manage advertising sales rights, forecast and monitor inventory, and deliver ads based on revenue potential.

“FreeWheels focus on the television and entertainment industry allows the company to build technology that is uniquely suited to our needs,” said Skarpi Hedinsson, SVP, technology & video platforms, digital media, at ABC. “MRM is a critical piece of technology that will allow us to scale in the increasingly complex world of entertainment content.”

ABC will use MRM across properties including ABC.com, ABC Family, ABC News and owned television stations – and is the second Disney company to sign up with FreeWheel, joining ESPN. 21 of the top 25 cable networks in the US are also clients.
