Personal identity platform About.me has launched a standalone app with the intention of creating a new form of business card for the digital, mobile age.
The Intro app, currently available on iPhone, links to About.mes existing app to create a shareable digital business card that communicates your identity. The card can be easily shared with friends, business partners and new contacts, and enables users to select which pieces of personal information to share, as well as allowing them to scroll back through contacts they have received.
The app also enables you to merge any information received with iPhone contacts, as well as backing it up onto the app.
“We wanted to bring you the next generation of the business card,” said Ryan Freitas, co-founder and head of product at About.me. “With Intro, context is clear as youre able to look back at your new contacts, put a face to a name and understand why the connection was meaningful.”
