Absolute Radio Revamps iOS Apps

Absolute Radio have revamped its network of iOS apps, adding apps for two new DAB stations, Absolute Radio 60s and Absolute Radio 70s, to the existing six.

The new apps, which were co-built by the Absolute Radio OGS Labs team and All In Media, utilise In-stream intelligent streaming technology, which alters audio quality in response to network conditions. Absolute Radio’s archive of over 20,000 free podcasts are also available through the apps, with push notifications reminding users of new episodes.

The station has recorded over a 500 per cent increase in mobile revenue growth from 2010, and forecasts that this will double into next year.

Absolute Radio COO Clive Dickens says: “With our sixth generation mobile listen apps for iOS we have focused on a refreshed user interface and experience. As we approach 300,000 monthly active users from an install base of over 2.5m, mobile is increasingly a very big part of our strategy”.
