Accumulate Strikes Alcatel Deal

Accumulate has revealed that its Flexion wrapper solution will be used to allow subscribers to try & buy pre-loaded content across the range of Alcatel mobile phones from US operator, TCT Mobile. TCT will launch the Flexion wrapper in its first Alcatel Android handset, the OT-980.

By wrapping games and preloading them on their handsets, TCT Mobile allows consumers to play the full game for free, before deciding whether to make a purchase. For device manufacturers, operators, retailers and publishers, the Flexion wrapper provides the ability to maximise distribution, penetration and ARPU from mobile games and apps. For the publishers especially, it means that they don’t have the expense of creating and testing multiple versions.

“This is another significant global deal for us and confirms the movement from many in the industry to remove the old-fashioned demo,” says Accumulate UK managing director, Jens Lauritzson. “More and more people are looking to wrap content, giving customers a better experience and making more money for the industry.”

Accumulate says that by using Flexion, revenues from mobile games can be dramatically increased, especially in markets that are predominantly pre-pay, and where many content transactions fail due to low credit. The Flexion wrapper offers a variety of retail options that can increase spend, and if the application is not pre-loaded, users can download wrapped applications onto their handsets before purchase, regardless of the available credit.
