Accumulate UK Hits 20m Users, Rebrands As Flexion

Soaring demand for Accumulate UK’s  Flexion mobile billing and retailing wrapper service – pushing the solution’s user base up to 20m, with the number of new users growing at the rate of 1.5m per month – has prompted the group to announce a rebrand for the new year.  As of January 2011, Accumulate will change its name to Flexion, in recognition of what the company terms a “major milestone” in the solution’s growth.

“Most people in the industry know the Flexion brand by now,” comments Jens Lauritzson, MD, Accumulate UK Limited, “so it made sense to officially trade under that name too.” He views Flexion’s growth as mirroring wider popularity for wrapper solutions: “Wrapper technology enables content publishers to create the best possible content and do that once. Additional services, such as billing or digital rights management, can be added by the wrapper, so that it doesn’t affect the core content.”

Accumulate estimates that its number of new Flexion customers is growing at a monthly rate of 1.5m, and the group counts Hutchison 3G, Telfonica O2, Orange Group, EA and Sony Ericsson among its key clients. As a result of having overssen recent integrations with txtNation ad Boku, Flexion now has billing solutions in more than 60 countries.
