AccuWeather Launches on Android

Weather forecasting organisation AccuWeather has launched an app for Android devices.

The app is a free download from the Android Market, and features a range of weather features, including hour-by-hour forecasts which are updated every hour, interactive Google Maps, and the ability to share weather information on social networks.

“Our brand new AccuWeather for Android application meets the technical and user interface standards we have set for all our applications,” says Pascal Racheneur, AccuWeather VP of interactive media. “In addition to our reliable and localised forecasts, we have weather in 23 different languages and other great features, such as social media sharing and customisable app colours. This app is an app our users will look forward to checking every day to make their daily and future plans.”

The app offers forecasts in some detail – as well as forecasts for every hour for the next 24 hours, it also offers forecasts for the next 15 days. Weather Alarms are included, which alert the user to expected extreme weather conditions, and the app can give current weather conditions data including humidity percentages, visibility, UV index, wind speed gusts and direction, times for sunrise and sunset, and RealFeel figures.

Users can store an infinite number of favourite locations, and choose between metric and imperial units. Head to the Android Market to download the app.
