Adblock Plus has launched version 1.1 of its Android app, after it was pulled from Google Play last week as part of Googles ongoing purge of ad blocker apps.
The updated app still wont be available through the Play Store, and will have to downloaded and side-loaded from another source, such as Adblock Plus own site or alternative app stores. 
This will obviously make it more difficult for Adblock Plus to reach new users with its app – however, its not all bad news as, according to a tweet, the userbase for its Chrome add-on exploded after the app was pulled, breaking 9m users.
