Somo, the independent, European mobile marketing agency, has announced the appointment of industry veterans Thomas Schulz and Ross Sleight as part of its rapid expansion across the world.
Schulz, formerly managing director EMEA at AdMob, joins as CEO of Somo International, and will spearhead the company’s expansion in the US, Europe and Asia. At AdMob, he was responsible for launching in 26 countries, and built the EMEA revenue to become the main contributor for the firm. After integrating AdMob into Google, he has decided to pursue his passion for launching new mobile marketing businesses.
Sleight is the founder of a number of digital businesses, including Online Magic, Agency.com, BMP interAction (merged to become TribalDDB.com), and Heresy. Most recently, he co-founded Virgin Games.
He joins Somo as chief strategy officer, and has over 16 years’ experience in digital, the last five of which have been focused on mobile media. He has developed award-winning, business-changing, digital and mobile strategies for clients as diverse as Associated Newspapers, Reuters, Speedo, , Sega, British Airways, and No. 10 Downing Street.
