Mobile ad network AdMob has released statistics from traffic on its network during the month of May. The stats reveal, among other things that 65.1% (196.3 million) of ad requests in Western Europe come from the UK.
The May metric report, which focuses on Western European data, reveals the rapid growth of mobile Internet usage across the region. Spain showed the most rapid traffic growth on AdMobs network with a 270% increase since September 2007. Italy came a close second with 210% growth.
According to AdMobs figures, the iPhone is also grabbing a significant market share across Europe, dominating the top 10 device rankings in France, Germany the Netherlands and Spain.
The stats also show that network ad impressions increased 16.9% compared to the previous month, up from 2.56 billion to 3.03 billion. AdMob now serves more than 100 million impressions daily, in 230 countries. 22.4% of ad requests in the AdMob network worldwide were from Smartphones. The RAZR V3, Nokia N70 and SonyEricsson K800i retained the top device spots in the US, India and UK respectively.
