Adobe and Sony Launch Adobe AIR App Challenge

Adobe has launched the Adobe AIR App Challenge, sponsored by Sony, and offering developers the chance to win up to $130,000 (£80,000) by developing an Adobe AIR app for Sony’s new tablet devices.

Adobe and Sony are challenging developers and content creators to build breakthrough Adobe AIR apps optimized for Sony’s two new Android-based tablets, using Adobe Flash Platform tools. The competition offers a total of $200,000 in cash prizes, premium promotion on the Sony tablets,  conference passes and paid travel to Adobe MAX in Los Angeles.

The competition judges will select the 80 best apps or app projects as finalists to receive pre-release access to the Sony tablets, and the latest version of Adobe AIR software, as well as extended trial tools from Adobe.
