Adobe has launched an iPhone and Android version of its Photoshop Touch app for tablets.
The app enables people to use many of the programme’s desktop features, like layers and filters, optimised for touch-based gestures. Users can edit images as large as 12 megapixels, combine with text or other images and automatically sync their masterpiece in the cloud with 2GB of free storage. Desktop and tablet account holders can then continue to work on their project on other platforms.
The app costs £2.99 and is compatible with iPhone 4S and above. The Android app works on Ice Cream Sandwich or later.
“Mobile phones are increasingly becoming the primary tool for people to take and edit photos,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, creative media solutions at Adobe. “Adobe is dedicated to serving our customers’ evolving creative workflow and we heard, loud and clear, that Photoshop fans wanted some core Adobe imaging magic on their smartphones.”
