Airwide Solutions, which provides next-generation mobile messaging infrastructure and applications, has announced a deal with Vodafone Ireland to install Airwides next generation AirMessenger Router across its entire network. In addition, Airwide Solutions is upgrading Vodafone Irelands SMSC platform, enabling message storage optimisation, delivering operational and capital expenditure savings, and protecting the investments Vodafone has already made.
AirMessenger Router will enable up to 80% of Vodafone Irelands messaging traffic to be delivered instantly, without being stored, reducing the end-to-end cost per message and increasing the speed of message delivery. Airwides AirMessenger Router v7.1 optimises messaging infrastructure by incorporating intelligent load and rule based traffic management, so that messages can be dynamically routed across SMSCs in the most efficient manner. The implementation of the Router on SIGTRAN allows substantial capital expenditure savings.
Additionally, says Airwide, the AirMessenger Router v7.1 will offer Vodafone Ireland more effective relationship management with value-added partners such as MVNOs, aggregators, and content providers, with features such as virtual mobile, congestion management and traffic analysis. The Linux-based AirMessenger Router also provides a flexible incremental approach for operators looking to gain enhanced security capabilities, including content controls, antispam, antispoof and blacklisting.
To increase our messaging capacity while lowering delivery cost-per-message is critical to our business says Vodafone Ireland Head of Product and Services, Declan Brennan. By using Airwide Solutions next-generation routers and applications, we get a stable, scalable and flexible messaging infrastructure that enables us to cope with an increase in traffic from our customers.
