Amazon is reportedly preparing to open as many as six more of its line-free brick-and-mortar Amazon Go convenience stores this year.

According to Recode, citing sources familiar with the plans, some of the futuristic stores are likely to join the one that Amazon already has in its hometown of Seattle, while others are expected to pop up in Los Angeles. Those are the only two locations that the sources know Amazon Go is likely to open in this year, but it’s unclear if any other cities will be graced with the stores.

It’s reported that Amazon has been holding serious talks with billionaire developer Rick Caruso about bringing the stores to his 600,000-square-foot outdoor shopping space called The Grove in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Amazon is said to have identified at least three locations in Seattle where it could open additional stores.

Amazon’s first cashier-free store opened to the public in Seattle last month – close to a year after it had originally planned to do so. It first opened its doors to staff in December 2016. Amazon could also be looking to bring Amazon Go to the UK in the near future, after it trademarked several potential slogans in May of last year.
