Amsterdam is the venue for a new international event with a focus on mobile strategies, applications and Smartphones. iCE Amsterdam is a two-day conference, open to anybody who is professionally involved in mobile applications, strategies, marketing, business or development.
In addition to the ubiquitous iPhone, the event will also cover Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile. It takes place on 26 and 27 November in the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, with the iCE Amsterdam Award being presented on the last day of the event. Attendees will select a single winner from the nominated applications.
The conference is specifically and deliberately Not for iPhone only, although the main activity is still centered on iPhone applications, as the iPhone is the catalyst for the rapidly developing mobile market, says event organizer, Herman van Bolhuis. The App Store is an example of how new applications drive the sales of Smartphones. Since its introduction, the market for mobile applications has been growing at an enormous rate.
The conference will feature a variety of presentations, technical workshops and business tracks, and showcase important trends in the development of mobile applications. Speakers include Dom Sagolla, the founder of Dollar App, a developer of applications for the iPhone; Niall Murphy Co-founder of The Cloud, Europes largest public wi-fi network; and Vincent Verwey, Founder of Makayama, the largest Dutch iPhone developer.
