Google has rolled out the final beta of the latest version of its Android operating system (OS), Android 8.0 Oreo, to Pixel and Nexus owners – but this doesn’t mean it works as well as it should just yet, with Bluetooth connectivity problems affecting many users.

In response to the reported problems, Google has posted on both the Pixel and Nexus forums asking people to share the issues they are experiencing so it can look to work on a fix.

Issues listed include media content not displaying properly in vehicles, pairing but no audio passing through connected headphones/speaker, Bluetooth not turning on or connecting at all, audio randomly stopping every few seconds, and plenty more. Android Auto appears to be experiencing the most problems, but headphones and speakers have their issues too.

The Bluetooth problems have been present since the first Android 8.0 developer preview, and users are disappointed that this hasn’t been fixed despite it being reported on several occasions. In addition, Google experienced a similar problem a year ago with the release of Android 7.0 Nougat, so it clearly hasn’t learned from its mistakes. But, at the same time, at least Google is working to fix it.
