apadmi 2App developer Apadmi has published a guide aimed at helping other startups make successful apps. The guide, which features over 200 tips and tactics, was compiled in conjunction with PR Agency One and digital marketers PushON.

While there have been attempts to emulate the success US tech startups have seen, the UK has generally lagged behind, with one report claiming there are more app developers in San Francisco that in the whole of the UK.

Manchester-based developer Apadmi is seeking to foster growth in the UK app development community with its new guide. The company already has strong links within the independent developer community through its involvement with local events and hackathons, and a strong reputation following its work on the BBC iPlayer Radio, the Guardian Witness app and the official X Factor app.

“Mobile apps are unlike any other business because you have to get it right first time,” said Howard Simms, operations director at Apadmi. “Bugs, negative early reviews or failure to properly prepare for your launch can harm an app before its a week old.

“Many of the UKs indie app developers have technical backgrounds rather than one in marketing or PR so dont know how to get the exposure they need to really grow. Our guide is about getting it right.”
