Apadmi Teams with Google for App Creation Workshop

Google Agency Day1App developer Apadmi has partnered with Google North to stage a workshop on app create, aimed at fostering young and upcoming creative talent in the North West.

The Manchester-based developer was invited by Google North to deliver a workshop, named APPrentice, to 22 employees from media planning and buying specialist Carat Manchester.

After an introduction and some design advice from Apadmi, the delegates were challenged to an Apprentice-style competition where they had to come up with winning ideas for an exception mobile app experience, based around a fashion retail store app.

The winning concept was an app called Fashionality, which integrated social media to bring style inspiration to users mobiles, and combined practical functions, a minimalist design and simple technical solutions. The team behind the app concept won a free App in a Day workshop hosted by Ian Joyner, technical consultant at Apadmi, during which they will produce a fully functioning iPhone app.

“It was great to see everyone really engaged in the workshops concept,” said Sabine Douglas, partner manager for Apadmi. “All the teams ideas were incredibly creative and in just half an hour concepts were developed that could genuinely be translated into successful apps.

“At Apadmi, we passionately believe that its our duty to support and encourage the next generation of talented designers and developers. Events such as this one will hopefully help to lay the foundations for Manchester to remain a world leader in digital for years to come.”
