Beehive Solutions has launched a mobile app, created by Grapple Mobile, which it says could help UK businesses to save over £400m in mobile phone costs.
A 2007 study carried out by telecoms billings service Aurora Kendrick James found that personal calls account for between 20 and 25 per cent of all calls made on company mobiles. With Ovum valuing the corporate mobile phone bill at £1.7bn, this means that personal calls can add up to between £340m and £425m.
Beehive’s cross-platform app, which took less than three weeks to build and works on all leading smartphone handsets including iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia, enables companies to distinguish between business and personal calls, recording a detailed inventory of all calls made from the handset.
The system means employees can continue to benefit from low corporate phone tariffs without the laborious task of analysing their mobile phone bills on a monthly basis, and allows companies to accurately recover the cost of personal calls, via seamless integration with the major ERP payroll systems.
“Reach and scale, rapid development and keen pricing were our primary requirements for this app – so Grapple were a perfect fit,” says Beehive Solutions CEO, Paul Higgins. “From start to finish, Grapple provided a thoroughly professional service that exceeded our expectations and we are delighted with the look, feel and functionality of the app they have developed for us.”
