AppGyver Raises $2.5m Seed Round

AppGyverHTML5 hybrid app development company AppGyver has raised a $2.5m (£1.5m) super angel round.

The companys Steroid platform (great macho name) has been designed for both seasoned developers and novices alike to build and test cross-platform web apps to rival those built native for iOS and Android.

The company says apps built using the Steroid SDK offer comparable functionality to native apps like in-app navigation and animations. Since August last year, 10,000 apps have been built on Steroid and it is now being used by companies including Accenture, the BBC and IBM.

The new funds will used for sales and marketing, platform development and R&D. The round was led by Initial Capital and Open Ocean Capital.
