Apple on the Hunt for Apple Search Manager

apple maps searchA new job listing has revealed that Apple is looking for an engineering manager for a project called Apple Search.

The listing, found by Cult of Mac, calls for a technical, driven and creative program manager to manage backend operations projects for a search platform supporting hundreds of millions of users” on both desktop and mobile devices.

While Apple positioning itself to compete with search engine giant Google on its home turf would certainly make for an interesting time in the mobile world, its unlikely a company as tightly-controlled as Apple would let its plans slip in a job listing.

Its more likely that the San Francisco-based position will focus on improving the search functionality for one of its existing products like the App Store or Apple Maps, which is supposedly due for a major update this year as Apple finally integrates data it purchased from navigation and mapping companies in 2013.
